Muriel performs and facilitates storytelling and writing workshops for Jewish and interfaith audiences of all ages at many venues including classrooms, large assembly halls, camps, museums, parties, organizations, senior groups, and community events. She works with her clients to develop programs particularly suited to their needs. Her school programs align with themes students are studying and with state standards. In day schools, she enjoys integrating Judaic and general studies. Study guides are available for school programs. Some programs utilize puppets and percussion instruments. Work with seniors often involves opportunities to share stories and memories.

Jewish Tales from Around the World: Deeply committed to joyfully bringing Jewish folklore to her audiences, Muriel will take you on a journey from Afghanistan to Poland, from Iraq to New Jersey, from ancient Israel and Babylonia and back. Experience stories that awaken memory and touch the heart.
May be adapted for all age (from 3 to 103) as well as family and intergenerational groups. Organizations large and small also enjoy this story journey.

Stories of Elijah and Miriam: Muriel has long been fascinated by stories about the prophet Elijah and the prophetess Miriam ( her name-sake). She brings midrash, folklore and Biblical stories together in this entertaining and educational program. For Passover or any time of year.
Especially for school groups and organizations. All ages.

Powerful Woman through Jewish History: Muriel brings woman together around a “vitual kitchen table” to meet Serach Bat Asher, Ruth, Miriam, Hulda, Deborah, Rabbi Asnath and modern “heroines”. Hear their stories and share your own. This may be easily adapted to a writing/storytelling residency over time.
Especially for ages 10 and up. Perfect for women’s organizations and youth groups.

Stories for Tu’Bshvat, Earth Day, and Every Day of the Year: These are Jewish tales with strong environmental messages from the Bible to the Modern Day. Hear tales honoring trees, growing things, animals, rain, and the Earth and its protectors.
May be adapted for all ages.

Mining Memories - A Memoir Writing Workshop: Looking for ways to enrich senior groups, youth groups, classrooms for any age? Muriel uses “theater games,” writing and drawing prompts, and artifacts to awaken memory and get participants sharing orally and in writing.
This can be a 2 hour introductory workshop or a longer residency with a publication or performance at the end.

Telling Stories to Children: Muriel gets everyone involved in these interactive workshops. She can design a program around a particular Jewish holiday, teacher in-service, religious school parent literacy program, or adult education programs.
For parents, grandparents, and teachers.

Derech Eretz - Jewish Values through Story: Through her lively retellings, Muriel brings alive Jewish views about bullying, respect, gossip, using words wisely, caring for the environment, treating others with respect, pursuing peace and more.
May be adapted to any age. An interactive workshop or residency can follow this program.

Interfaith Story Circles: This workshop gives a rational for interfaith story circles and presents a step by step “how to” guide for developing interfaith story circles. Print and web resources are included.
Especially suited for Interfaith Councils, clergy groups, and others interested in making genuine, long-term interfaith connections. Muriel is a co-founder of the Interfaith Story Circle of the Dutchess County Interfaith Council.
